It all started from... Hungry Caterpillar

We're believers of books. Real books. Not those on ipads. Not yet at least, at this age, I think its better for kids to interact with real books. So I did get her the famous caterpillar, I didn't understand whats the real deal behind this book. I still don't. Its very much like any other book. But Emma took a great liking for this book (Hence this book is currently on repeat mode like a spoilt tape).


So I've decided to get the books from the same range, albeit its out of my book budget. I set the budget anyway. So now. Its became a flexi budget. *palm-face-smack*


And the touch and feel book. She lovesssss all books thats touch and feel.


Now, we'll wait for them to reach our letter box!

Growth chart - Up!

*phew* took me maybe 20-30 mins to finish catching up on facebook and instagram. Cause we (I mean Ems and I) start our sleeping routine at 8:30pm, its end-of-social media till the next morning when Ems is off to her first nap at about 11am. So its about 15 hrs of catching up on fb and ig.

Yesterday we managed to put up Ems growth chart! Something we've bought some time ago from kikki.k. Love their stationary! Ultimately cutesy that we've got a fair bit of stuff from there! Starting off even way before they had their stores in Sg.

Finally back ~

The work trip ended early, came back 3 days early. So happy to see my Emma. :)

Hubs did a wonderful job manning the fort himself, and that includes a trip to the aquarium!


Last sunday, 23 june (one day after hubs bday), Ems woke up, and decided that she doesn't need anyone help to walk! Previously she was doing assisted walking, holding on to us, and stuff.


So now, shes officially all over the house. She doesn't crawl much, walking walking and more walking!

We're now experiencing a literal breakdown for our house:
- our neighbours pipe is leaking into our house
- our door lock is spoilt
- my luggage back lock is spoilt right after i reach home
- our washing machine is spoilt

All of the above happened within one week! Painful. So today, we are stuck home, waitin for the washing machine guy to mend the machine. But we had a fruitful morning!











We do love grubs. Reasonable priced, nice food and most importantly, they have bench seats so Ems wun be constraint to her high chair. Shes much happier on bench seats.

And we manage to squeeze in a swim session after breakfast!!








Ems hasn't swam since Phuket, so, from her smiles, I guess shes very happy!!

Actually, the happiest thing of my work trip is, hubs is able to look after Ems by himself. He did the same routine of dropping her off at my mums in the morning, and picking her back home after work and for the weekends. I guess there are many dads out there who are able to do the same. I'm just happy that Ems has a daddy who can look after her when the mummy is not around.

The next happiest thing. I was back just in time for Zara sale!!! Managed to cheong there on the first day of the sale and *gulp* of cause made a puny hole in my wallet.

Sunday luck~

Hubs had to run an errand on Sunday morning. It was dark and cloudy, but I decided to bring Ems to the playground trying our luck with the rain.


I guess, we were lucky afterall (i think). She managed to spin some balls, and go down the slide, not once, but TWICE! Before the huge droplets came falling down, and we hurried to shelter.

Saturday morning with a small fiasco

And so, we started our Saturday morning fantastico. This passenger from a cab opened the door without looking for cars, and out came hubs side mirror. Luckily it was a quick simple affair, settled within 5 mins. But the cab's door could have flew out.


And we continued morning breakfast at Picotin, wanted to eat there one last time before they move to ECP next month. Doubt we will frequent the outlet there, cause the only reason we like it here, is theres no crowd. We can't say the same for ECP.

And when she had enough, shes just happily enjoying her new found mobility.


Its nice that we let her roam around us, and its our turn to eat.


She gets to see horses.


Shes currently in a see animals phase.


And we had to rush home cause the contractors are coming to finish up Emma's wardrobe!! Happies!! Recently, Emma's in a koala phase, she sleeps within a minute in my arms. No complains. I love it. Its the best feeling in the world.

RWS Sea Aquarium

A quick short post. Last month, we took a visit to the RWS aquarium. It was an amazing trip!!

Emma enjoyed herself definitely, and not wanting to leave each 'tank'. We spent almost 3 hours there.

Didn't take much pictures, but had loads of fun! Wanted to buy the annual pass, but I guess everyone else thinks its a good idea to buy annual pass as well, so it was all sold out. We'll definitely be back soon!

Date night is movie night~

And so we embarked on our one movie a month plan. Its been going on well, going back to do something we really enjoyed pre-Emma. Last month, there wasn't much on our must watch list, so we caught The Big Wedding, which was a good break from the serious movies.


And tonight we're going for Fast and Furious! Caught all previous 5 episodes so how can we miss this!


And hopefully have enough time for shopping at Taka. Hurray to extended shopping hours!!

Quick shopping catch up~

Cause we had to watch over the wardrobe today, there was no scheduled shopping for this weekend. I don't think I've got the stamina for a whole day shopping as well. But *phew* managed to squeeze in a quick shopping trip to Plaza Sing as I feel like getting some arty farty supplies to top up my current stash.

I completed a new frame recently, from our Greece, Santorini trip. It has a mini theme of butterflies. I love 3D things in a frame.


Anyway back to my trip to PS. Gap continued their sale, and I got a new more stuff! Another jacket to replace Emma's current ones that she's outgrowing.

















All six pieces for $80, which works out to be about $13 a piece!! Cheap eh!!

Home Works~

And so, unexpectedly this year we embark on a little project call Home Improvement. It was scheduled for next year, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to do it this year. Last month we decided to start with something simple, doing Emma's room air con. But it turned out to be a mini disaster. The smallest thing of the entire project!!!! That said, its now done and over, we just have to make do and make good of what they've done.

Anyways, today we're starting on her wardrobe. We used the same closet id as previous time, they did my wardrobe and kitchen cabinet. Totally satisfied with them, super efficient, and what I see is what I get, with no hiccups. The contractor went for lunch, so this is his morning works











I saved this post, and only get to finish it now. So, end product at 5pm.


Part 2 which is the interior will be done next Saturday and viola! Again, satisfied with their service. Liased with the same guy who coordinate for us, think we only spent less than an hour with him in total. Love their service. And since my warobe and kitchen cabinet are still in very good condition, I would say the material is not bad as well.

After we're done with this, will be the real headache. Sub-cons. Electricians and carpenters. *dizzy*

We're carrying off with what we did not have the moolahs to do six years ago:
- L-box lightings for the rest of the house. Emma's room, masterbedroom, dining area.
- lighting for corridor
- feature wall for living room tv
- featurer wall for masterbed room tv
- feature wall in masterbed room for photo frames
- repaint the entire house
- changing to invisible window grills (still considering)

Things that hubs wants but got rejected by me:
- a feet washing sink right next to our door. He says it doesn't make sense to walk all the way to the kitchen dirtying the house to wash his feet after he reach home everyday.
- a bar counter smack in the middle of the living room.

After staying here for six years, we were more than happy to be here for the next 16 years. This is the first biggest most expensive item we ever bought together as a couple. When we just bought I guess we didn't expect to love it this much, but as time grows, our heart grows into the house and home. When Emma came along, it has shown and proven that this is more than a house, it is so much more a home now.

Travel buddies for life~

Today's one of Straits Times article, first sentence caught my attention, 'First rule of travel, go with someone you love.' Just that the author chose to go with himself, I chose my hubs.

Can't remember since when, we caught the travel bug. I don't remember travelling so much when I was single. Of cause that time I was a poor student too, but I guess there was no urge to go anywhere as well. I was happy just to be in Singapore. It started in 2004 or was it 2003, we went on our first 'trip', a three week road trip up North and down South of Western Australia when we were studying in Perth. It was a total different kind of travel fun, travelling with a group of 10-15 people which till now I have some vivid memories as we flip through the photos. That was probably one of the best travel experiences in my life.

Afterwhich, since 2005, we travel every single year without fail.

I enjoy travelling a great deal, only with the company of hubs, he's a terrific travel companion. He does what I hates most, road planning. I do what he hates, planning for a trip. I'm most happy that he loves travelling as much as I do, and best still, his interest for photography definitely made our trips mre memorably pretty.

Without him, I might have no interest for travel. Without him, I will have no travel companion. So which comes first? Him? Or love for travel?
